WPP stocks both halves of the job: generators from 20 kW to 3300 kW and automatic transfer switches from 200 to 4,000 amps, service rated and non-service rated.
Send us your one-line and we will tell you which units fit your load and your service, and which of them are on the floor right now.
One Source for the Generator and the Transfer Switch
WPP carries both sides of the job and matches them to your drawings: the generator to the load, the transfer switch to your service rating. One quote, one point of contact, and one team confirming the pair fits before anything ships.
Because both sit in WPP’s inventory, a matched pair can be quoted and released on the same schedule, in the ratings your one-line calls for rather than the ratings a single manufacturer’s line happens to offer.
The Generator Sizes to the Load, the Switch Sizes to the Service
Your generator is sized to the load the building carries. Your transfer switch is sized to the electrical service. The two numbers move independently, so the combination changes from job to job.
You might be putting 100 kW of generator behind an 800 amp service. On one job you need a 200 kW generator with a 400 amp switch, and on the next the same 200 kW generator with a 600 amp switch.
Whichever combination your one-line calls for, WPP can usually match it out of what is already in the yard.
What WPP Keeps on the Shelf
WPP has Texas’ largest inventory of industrial generators, and stocks automatic transfer switches from 200 to 4,000 amps. When a size runs short there is usually another one inbound, and we will tell you where it is in the queue.
Transfer Switches: 200 to 4,000 Amps
Automatic transfer switches from 200 amps to 4,000 amps, service rated and non-service rated, including ASCO, Caterpillar, Cummins, Kohler, and Thomson. Quick connect panels, bypass isolation and transfer switch parts and accessories come out of the same inventory, so the accessories do not become a separate order.
If your submittal calls for a particular brand, tell us and we will confirm what we have in that rating.
Generators: 20 kW to 3300 kW
New and used generators from 20 kW to 3300 kW, diesel and natural gas, from Caterpillar, Cummins, Gillette, HIPOWER, IGSA, Kohler and other major brands.
Every new generator WPP sells is load bank tested before it ships, even if the factory already tested it. Used units are verified before sale as well, either against the service history WPP already has on the unit or by testing start-up and load-holding directly.
Because WPP stocks both sides, you can usually get the generator and the switch for the same job out of the same inventory.
Multi-Voltage Transfer Switches
Many transfer switch lines are voltage-specific, so the switch you need is built for one voltage and one configuration. WPP stocks multi-voltage transfer switches that cover more than one configuration, which means a unit already on the floor may suit your job without a special order.
Tell us the voltage you are working with and we will confirm what covers it.
Open-Protocol Controls
Every generator WPP sells runs open-protocol controls. The software is available and any qualified technician can connect to the unit.
That can make maintenance and repairs easier, because the choice of who services the unit stays open.
FAQs
Do I have to buy the generator and the switch together?
No. WPP sells either on its own. Taking both from stock is about timing and fit.
Will any transfer switch work with any generator?
On commercial equipment it is a two-wire start, so the pairing is not the constraint. Ratings and availability are, and that is what we confirm against your drawings.
What is the difference between service rated and non-service rated?
It comes down to whether the switch also serves as the service disconnect for the building, which your design determines. WPP stocks both, in ratings from 200 to 4,000 amps.
Do you have 400 amp and 600 amp switches in stock?
Inventory moves, so check the transfer switch page for current listings.
Can you match a switch to a generator I bought somewhere else?
Yes. Send the generator’s rating and voltage along with your service size and we will confirm what fits.
Do you provide submittals?
Every individual piece of equipment comes with a submittal matched to the configuration you ordered.
Who can service the unit after installation?
Open-protocol controls on WPP’s generators mean the software is available and any qualified technician can connect. WPP’s own service team supports all major brands and offers preventive maintenance programs.
