This is a full-time, permanent onsite role based in our Houston, TX 77041 office.

Position Summary: 

The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a high-impact leadership role focused on supporting the CEO and COO (future President) in driving strategic initiatives, optimizing operations, and ensuring alignment across the company. This role is designed for a business-savvy leader with strong financial acumen, operational expertise, and the ability to execute at a high level.

The CoS will gain deep exposure to all aspects of the business, including financial planning, operational strategy, leadership development, and cross-functional execution. Over time, based on business needs, leadership structure, and individual performance, the CoS may take on increasing operational responsibilities with the potential for expanded leadership opportunities.

This is an ideal role for a hands-on, execution-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to drive meaningful impact within a growing organization.

Job Duties: 

Strategic Execution & Decision Support

  • Act as a key operational partner to the CEO and COO (future President).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and COO coordinating data and insights to inform financial, operational and organizational decision-making
  • Close coordination with Company leadership team ensuring alignment on strategic priorities across all business functions to drive the execution of WPP’s S.T.I.N.G. strategy (Strategic Growth, Talent Development, Innovation, Nimble Operations, and Goals with Impact).
  • Improve efficiency, accountability, and execution across all business divisions.
  • Establish clear swim lanes for leadership, ensuring smooth operations and strong alignment.

Project & Initiative Management

  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with company priorities to enhance scalability, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline daily operations.
  • Track, measure, and report on strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with company goals.

Leadership & Communication

  • Serve as an extension of the CEO, translating vision into actionable execution.
  • Work closely with the COO (future President) to ensure operational accountability across divisions.
  • Facilitate executive leadership meetings, driving agenda development, key takeaways, and follow-ups.
  • Develop leadership talent across the company, preparing WPP for continued growth.

Operational Exposure & Development

  • Gain deep experience in sales, rental, service, parts, finance, HR, safety, and M&A.
  • Work alongside division managers and the controller to identify improvement areas and establish metrics for success.
  • Assume progressive financial and operational responsibilities, positioning for future leadership opportunities based on business needs and performance.

Safety:

  • Safety leadership supporting the culture of high standards, continuous improvement and proactive safety efforts.
  • Report all recognized unsafe conditions or acts to Management. 
  • Wear proper PPE when necessary.

Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in a strategic, operational, or leadership role (Business Operations, Strategy, Consulting, or General Management preferred).
  • Strong business acumen, with experience scaling companies, driving efficiency, and managing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven ability to execute initiatives and improve business processes.
  • Industry experience in industrial services, power generation, or a related field is a plus.

Strategic & Tactical Competence

  • Understanding of Sales, Rental, Service, HR, Finance, Safety, M&A, and Legal.
  • Can quickly learn and become competent in all areas of the business.
  • Understands each division’s workflow and can improve efficiency.
