JR. CONTROLLER

Position Summary

The Jr. Controller is responsible for collaborating with internal departments to gather, record, analyze, and interpret relevant financial information.   This role requires preparing journal entries, reconciling financial statements and accounts, and ensures data accuracy across the entire organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Assist the Controller in coordinating the work of the Accounting Department
  • Maintains the general ledger
  • Contributes to the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets
  • Cross trains on the accounts payable function to ensure accurate processing of vendor invoices
  • Monitors the financial systems to identify and recommend procedures for improvements
  • Works with personnel from each department to ensure monthly financial results are accurate
  • Maintains current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards
  • Assists in the payroll process by calculating commissions and timesheets
  • Files sales tax
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) with emphasis in Business, Finance, Accounting or related from four-year college or university preferred, but not required
  • 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, and business management

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • QuickBooks experience is required, moderate to advanced user preferred
  • Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of federal and state regulations, finance, accounting, budgeting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and auditing and regulatory reporting
  • Advanced excel user required

Compensation

Salary range $70,000 – $75,000 (based on experience) plus 5% annual performance bonus
