Worldwide Power Products Expands Its Rental Generator Inventory by $1 Million to Support Its Hurricane Season Response Program
Houston TX (June 20, 2013) Worldwide Power Products (WPP), a power-generation equipment provider to industrial clients worldwide, today announced it has expanded its rental fleet of portable generators by more than $1 million. WPP’s increased commitment to the rental market will enable the company to support more customers with emergency power generation in advance of a tropical weather event.
“With officials at NOAA [the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration] stating that the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season could possibly be ‘extremely active,’ we want to be prepared to assist as many companies as possible,” said WPP Executive VP Mark Lum. During hurricane season, WPP’s Contingency Rental program is in high demand. With the program, WPP helps customers identify an appropriately sized emergency portable generator and then either delivers and sets it up on site or stores it in WPP’s warehouse until needed. In the event a company chooses the off-site storage option, WPP guarantees a generator will be available-and can be delivered-should a hurricane or other disaster threaten the area.
To assist customers with budgeting decisions, WPP offers a generator rental search tool on its site. There, customers can identify a generator that matches the wattage, phase and voltage they seek, and they can also view the Standby and Prime (daily, weekly and monthly) usage rates. With the Standby rate, companies pay a flat monthly fee for the generator and enjoy unlimited usage-with no additional usage charges-if the generator is required for emergency power.
