Sales Director, Petroleum Industry

 

Company & Position Overview

Worldwide Power Products (WPP) is a small, but rapidly growing industrial sales company and recently named in Forbes as one of America's Most Promising Companies.  WPP is looking for a Sales Director with significant experience in the petroleum industry. For this role, we want the person to be highly motivated for sales but also to help us build a solid business model for expansion in the petroleum industry.  This person would be responsible for not only sales but also growing the company’s industry presence.

 

 

Duties of this position include:

  • Undertake a strong leadership role on key Houston area petroleum accounts and global target accounts
  • Responsible for developing new customers in Houston area and petroleum industry to the maximum potential
  • Responsible for deliver product information to customers in territory
  • Communicate with current and prospective customers to gather information and solicit business by phone.
  • Work with inside sales support staff with quotes, equipment selection and sourcing to close orders.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant customer issues, pricing and billing procedures, and collections status.
  • Meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales volume and margin objectives.
  • Represent company at industry meetings, trade shows and conferences.

 

Job Qualifications

  •  Aggressive, ambitious, and highly competitive attitude
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Outside Sales in the petroleum industry
  • Able to prospect new accounts by professional networking, industry research, and cold-calling.
  • Able to negotiate and up sell with prospective customers.
  • Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Very strong communication skills in person, by telephone and by email.
  • Very good team player who should thrive under pressure.
  • Comfort and strength navigating the Internet
  • Able to provide effective strategic planning
  • Ambition to earn a high income
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time or more
  • Proven track record of managing a $50MM sales portfolio 
  • Proven ability to strengthen relationships with "key" accounts
  • Experience in power generation is a plus
